What is Set and Repeat?

Each sport has its own terms, words, abbreviations. There are also expressions common to all sports. It is an expression commonly used in set and again training of many sports branches.

Repeat: Each recurrence of an exercise motion forms a recursion. For example, when we think of the crouching movement, we always do a "repetition" that is right for the definition of movement. Starting to stand, crouching and getting up to the feet again, it is 5 repetitions to make it 5 times.

Set: In a sporting exercise, each recurring set is called a set. The set number is independent of the number of movements or repetitions made. It may be a set of 5 repetitions or a set of 300 repetitions, but the end of the set is due to the interruption of the construction of the movement or the completion of the movement and another movement. Many exercises are made with more than one set, the short resting period between the two sets is called "inter-set" or "inter-set rest".

In sports exercises, set and repeat are not usually written clearly and only set and repeat values are written to shorten; 4 x 25, 3 x 10 .... as. Remember, the sets are written first, and the repetitions are written after the sets. The cross mark indicates that both the set and the repeat are separated from each other and the total number of movements indicates how many repetitions are made. That is, 4 × 25 repeats 100 times in total and 30 × 3 in total.

Let's give an example: Let's say 3 × 15 push-ups (1 minute between sets will be rested) 15 push-ups are done correctly after the push-up position is taken. Then, after 1 minute, do not make that movement for 1 minute, take one more push-up position and repeat 15 more times, again stop the action for 1 minute and then the last set is done.
